Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
- What age can my child start training at the Centre?
We highly recommend that your child enjoys and plays in various positions before he/she reaches U9 level. Our keepers generally start between 8-9 years old. Distribution is a key element of becoming a good goalkeeper, allowing children to enjoy and playing ‘on field’ will allow them to be competent in passing a ball before they join our centre.
- Is there a financial and attendance commitment to the training Centre?
There is no financial commitment as it’s a ‘pay as you train’ set up. This however may change in the future.
Goalkeeping is the most physical, technical and physiological position on the football field and there is so much to learn. This is why we recommend that your child attends as many sessions as possible so that they can progress steadily throughout the training programmes we set.
We personally think that goalkeeping is like a very big jigsaw puzzle with many pieces to complete the whole picture. If some of those pieces are missing you will never become a competent goalkeeper!
- How do I register my child?
Please use the contact form on the website. We will aim to reply to you as soon as possible. All information sent to us will always be kept confidential.
- How much do your sessions cost?
It all depends on what sessions are attended. If you would like a copy of our costs emailed to you please contact us at admin@gloskeepers.net
We ask all payments to be paid to our bank account at the time of booking.
- Do you have training kit and is it compulsory?
Yes, we do have branded Centre training kit.
Whilst we say it’s not compulsory, we would like keepers (or their parents) to purchase the training tops we have available as a minimum. It helps to promote the professionalism of the Centre, provides Centre Identification, and all keepers with a sense of belonging if they are all dressed in the same training kit.
- What happens if I book a place and can’t make it to the training session?
As we are pay as you go at present, we expect any bookings to be honoured and paid for. We send out an availability check text on Tuesdays and Thursday for Friday and Weekend sessions. We then allocate training sessions on Wednesdays & Fridays. You must give us at least 24 hours’ notice if your child is not going to attend. Most sessions are very popular and booked the previous week.
